A/N: AU- The Prince hopes to plan another rendevouz with Fuji, but someone from the past returns.

Tezuka studied the schedule of activities for the week, which his secretary entered into his computer calendar. He was scheduled to leave for Beijing, where he was to represent his country during the Olympic ceremonies. There was a note reminding him to approve the roster of royal guards accompanying him during his two weeks sojourn in the foreign land. The prince opened the file and quickly scanned the names, to his chagrin Fuji was not on the list. He lounged back into his executive chair, staring at the twenty-inch flat computer screen as he tapped his pen on the glass top of his huge mahogany table. Raising an eyebrow, he sheepishly smiled, one benefit being Crowned Prince was his unlimited access to any information.

When he emailed the palace data bank for Fuji’s dossier, the data collector himself, Inui Sadaharu, Information Technology Specialist and Data Director went directly to Tezuka’s office. Quite in a conundrum and didn’t know how to assess the prince’ request.

“May I ask why?” The data collector inquired.

Tezuka made it appear like he was busy reviewing the files already on his desk, “Mmmmm?” his faked response looking at the confused Inui.

You’re asking about Fuji Syuusuke, Tezuka.” Inui familiarly addressing the prince, which was something Tezuka didn’t mind because Inui was one of his friends, way back in middle school.

Inui was the master data collector and never leaves any stone unturned. He also has been in utter frustration for his failure to collect data about his friend, the prince himself, with regards to things personal. So when such opportunity arises, Inui would waste no time to get to the source.

“I’m considering him for my trip to Beijing, is there a problem that I need to know?” Tezuka inquired.

“What is wrong with the names on the list? These men are experienced and have accompanied you in your previous trips. Why do you need to change it?” Inui asked, adjusting his glasses, which resulted to a sudden glint when the light from the chandelier above hit his lenses.

“I need someone who can be next to me at all times and can keep me secure.” Tezuka stated in a matter of fact way. “Fuji did that one night a couple of weeks ago while I had to stay in a local hotel due to some security faus pas.”

Inui took a moment to deduce the information. H already had the information, but still at a loss at the need of his one-night stay outside the palace. “What exactly happened that you needed to stay out?” Inui asked.

Tezuka stoic as he could be glared at Inui. “Papparazzi Inui! I had dinner with Atobe that evening. It got so late.”

Inui waited for more information, but he knew the prince was a man of few words, and he had the rest of the information anyway. “And you gave Atobe the limo to take him back to the palace where his ride was waiting to take him home. You were already attending a conference at the hotel so nobody really connected Atobe. Top movie idol was meeting with you. It was a perfect rendezvous.”

“Quite a deduction Inui as expected from the K top data collector.” Tezuka stated keeping his eyes on the data man. “The folder, Inui” Tezuka reached out his hand, waiting for the information director to hand him the file.

At this very moment, Tezuka was calculating his every reaction, every response. He couldn’t allow himself to be careless when it comes to Fuji. Inui was a force to deal with when it comes to keeping the data genius off his tracks.

One misstep and his wall will crumble, piece by piece falling, like gravity pulling out his heart, exposing the true man whom he was.

Inui, whether satisfied or frustrated with the information he gathered or lack of it, finally handed the folder and gave Tezuka the flash disc containing the information he requested on Fuji Syuusuke. He provided him some other pertinent information about the petite man, his educational background, military training, skills in foreign languages, his mastery in martial arts and when he completed his report, he left Tezuka on his own to review the hard file.

“And you wouldn’t think that Fuji would have all these qualities when you look at him really.” Inui paused by the entrance door. “Perhaps it makes sense to have him as one of your personal body guards.” He commented before exiting the room.

When Tezuka was sure that he was finally alone in his office, he lounged back on the leather chair he was sitting, closing his eyes, calming his nerves as he breathe in slow soothing breaths and releasing it out as slowly as he could. His temples ached. H realized that now, but relieved. He could get through the grueling hour with Inui, without divulging anything that would lead to further questioning by the data man.

He opened Fuji’s folder and inside were snapshots of his love interest's life outside the palace. A leap year baby, and a year younger than him. He grew up in Chenzu, middle child, older sister and a younger brother. The family photo was beautiful. Fuji was a cute and beautiful boy, smiling face that hides his deep-blue eyes.

While browsing through the folder he decided to move to the French satin sofa that was located by the terrace doors. He took his cup of coffee and Fuji’s file with him. Tezuka was about to lounge on the sofa when a picture fell from the folder. Immediately setting his cup down, he picked up the photo. Tezuka stared as he sat down, he just wasn’t able to stop himself from staring…

It was a picture of Fuji on the beach in his black and lime green Speedos. A beautiful smile with his blue eyes exposed and gazing at a man sitting next to him. A silver-haired man, quite a looker, Tezuka could give him that.

At the bottom of the picture were written notes, Inui’s penmanship, 5/15/2007 Chenzu, Fuji and Kojiro Saeki (paramour until 6/10/2007). An arrow pointed to Kojiro, and the word paparazzi reporter was encircled at the other end.

Tezuka noted the date when their relationship ended. It was just a couple of weeks before Fuji started working at the palace. He traced Fuji’s smile, which made him feel so silly, quite enamored by the beautiful palace guard. He wished he was in Chenzu with him.

A light bulb suddenly flashed brightly in his mind. Tezuka smiled. He picked up the phone and dialed a number.

“Is my mother available to talk?” Tezuka inquired, “Thank you.”

Tezuka waited.

“Mom. I’m fine. I’ve decided to drive up after all.”

He returned to his desk and sent out an email to his secretary, instructions to arrange for a car. H will drive to Chenzu.

Fuji watched the ocean crash into the shore as he sat still on the sand, using a dried log to support his back. The day flew by quickly, as the sun slowly settled down in the far horizon. He stayed by the shore all afternoon, purposely avoiding his family. He to be alone. He felt like he was slowly plunging into a dark abyss, he couldn’t understand his feelings. He wanted to leave the palace to escape, here he was in his sanctuary, and he longed to be back in the palace.

“Arrgh!” Fuji grunted in frustration, resting his throbbing head in between the palm his hands, his knees serving as elbow rest. “Get over it Syuusuke, nothing’s good going to come out of this!”

He couldn’t sit anymore, with his conflicted heart being so bothersome, Fuji stood and walked by the shoreline, slowly increasing his pace until he found the need to run, to run as fast as he could. He didn’t know where, suddenly a voice called out his name,

“Syuusuke! Wait up!” a male voice shouted from a distance.

Fuji stopped, panting to catch his breath. He turned, and he realized he’d run so far. The voice called out again.

“Syuusuke, wait up please!”

Fuji tried to focus his eyes, using his hand as a visor to protect his eyes from the setting sun. A man approached, running first and now slowly walking, as he tried to catch his breath. Fuji was breathing heavily as well but tried to pace his breathing slowly to calm his thumping heart.

He finally reached the blue-eyed man, still catching his breath, but now he managed a smile,

“Syuusuke, where are you running to?”

Fuji smiled, hiding his eyes from him, afraid it would betray him this very moment,

“Saeki, it’s been awhile…” the petite man said as the silver-haired paparazzi reporter embraced his former lover.

“A year and about two months Syuusuke, quite a long time and I’ve missed you… love.”
