01 – Unlimited
Ichimura Tetsunoske proudly walked down the way, garbed in his pale, blue robe and proudly displayed his katanas dangling at his side.
He was a samurai, a proud member of the Shinsengumi, not just a page for the Vice Commander, but a full pledged warrior and his confidence overflowed.
Tetsu wanted to become the strongest and bravest warrior in
He jolted out of his revelry when he bumped into someone blocking his way. His eyes opened, and his frown disappeared, with a nervous smile he bowed his head in greeting, “Vice Commander!”
Tetsu was glad his blushing face was out of his master's view, finally, remembering the task assigned to him by the tall, angry man before him.
02 – Impulse
“What have you been up to Ichimura?” asked the furious Vice-Commander Hijikata, “you're supposed to report back to camp an hour ago with the stuff I ordered you to pick up?” he continued scowling at the orange-haired boy before him.
Hijikata's frustration and anger were keenly observed by a musing purple-haired man sniggering on impulse, upon seeing the glaring eyes of the Vice Commander.
His face beet red and angry fumes were puffing out of his ears.
That was the image Souji Okita animated in his head as he approached the two men before him.
“Vice-Commander, do you think Ichimura might be tone deaf by now with you yelling at him with such shrill in your voice?” Souji smiled as he wily asked the tall-scowling officer.
03 – Out to play
A gleam of light escaped his eyes upon seeing the sudden softness in Hijikata's eyes when the tall-warrior warmly gazed at his purple eyes.
Souji fought to restrain himself from embracing his Vice-Commander and impressing upon his lips, a kiss that he has been longing to give him for a long time.
The beautiful surrounding chose to tease them both with cherry blossoms dancing about in swirls while the warm breeze caressed their cheeks.
Souji turned his attention towards the children out to play instead, when a flurry of pink painted his cheeks.
04 – Risk management
A heavy sigh escaped Ichumura's lips while he watched the purple-haired Captain sallied his way towards the children at play.
He slowly peeked at the surprisingly nonplused Vice Commander who was busy watching his Captain sashaying away.
He took advantage of opportunity and turned to scurry away from his Vice Commander's presence, a chance the young samurai was willing to take.
However, Hijikata was quick to notice and turned. “Ichimura you are not going to escape from me that easy!” scowled the irate leader. He was not going to play this thoughtless risk management game.
Ichimura halted his stride and in defeat, his head hanged low, afraid to look at his Commander's glare. “Hai, Vice Commander Hijikata, do not fault me for trying?” he averred, scratching his head innocently.
05 – Point of view
"You should not fault him for trying,” Souji noted, “you scare people you know,” he continued with a smile while handing Hijikata his cup of tea.
The Vice Commander accepted the offered brew quietly, an unmistakable frown on his face as his response to Souji's point of view.
“You spoil them though with your easy going ways,” Hijikata interjected, “someone has to keep these brats in the straight and narrow!”
“Ah, and you are best for the job,” Souji replied, purple eyes sparkled in awe, “so why are you not strict with me,” the younger soldier teased, reaching for his Vice-Commander's hand and kissing the palm of his hand.
A smile was visible on the Hijikata lips, “Maybe I should but your pork bun won't approve,” he bantered, caressing the angelic face before him.
06 – Lost and alone
Hijikata awakened hours before dawn and gently retrieved his clothes as he prepared to leave for his private chambers.
He glanced at the angelic form next to him, at peace and deep in sleep.
Hijikata smiled, Souji even while asleep kept an alluring aura which made it very difficult for him to leave before the evening shadows disappeared at dawn.
With Souji next to him, Hijikata could watch over him, disquieting his fears and rancorous coughs, he knew his presence made Souji smile and Hijikata wanted that smile at all times.
He was aware of the nearing end which he feared of the most, strong and brave as he was, he would feel lost and alone without his First Captain next to him.
07 – Flight of Fancy
“It's very hot and humid Souji, why do you want to go for a walk now?” Hijikata queried back as his brow twitched again for the 10th time when the purple-haired angel asked him to go for a walk.
“Vice Commander please it will be fun!” Souji pleaded with a smiling tone in his voice, “it's better than lounging and smoking,” the smaller man continued pouting.
Against his better judgment Hijikata caved in and agreed to accompany his first Captain on his trek, most likely to buy candy, he thought.
At the juncture, where he knew to turn towards town Souji stopped, deep in thought and looked at both roads while patiently he waited to hold the umbrella to protect them from the blazing heat of the sun; finally, Souji smiled and pointed towards the other road instead.
Hijikata, drenched in sweat, patiently followed the smaller man until Souji finally stopped in front of an onsen,“Toshi a bath is best to take on a hot day,” he smiled innocently at the tall samurai, “It would help us relax.”
