Luka watched him from the shadows, from above the tall buildings, behind the think leaves of the ancient trees lining up the street where the orphanage is located, the place where Yuki lives.  Lately, he noticed the increasing presence of Duras in the area.  It appears like Yuki is slowly waking up and the day of their meeting coming faster than he expected.  The Zweilt Guardians  are watching as well and had a face to face encounter with Yuki.

As much he wanted to be next to Yuki and openly protect his beloved, it pained him to think that being next to Yuki would only mean more pain and suffering for both.   Luka could handle all the suffering and pain. He would never betray Yuki, and he would die for his love a thousand deaths, if it would keep the enemies away.

“Yuki came back as a man this time,” Takashiro sniggered as he stared down at Luka. “ Regardless, he would still have to give up his life in order to save humanity.  That’s how it happened before, and that what needs to happen again.”

“I will kill anyone or anything who lays a finger on Yuki and harms him.” Luka warned the head of the Giou Clan. “I don’t care if Yuki is a man this time.  He is still Yuki, my beloved.  I will protect him like I did before Takashiro. I will not betray him.”

Yuki watched Luka while he sleeps next to him.  He has just awoken from a dream, a bothersome dream that caused him to blush and feel warm inside.  Luka kissed him in his dream.  It was him but he was not a man but a woman with very long blond hair and Luka gazed at him with his silver eyes filled with passion and love for him.

‘I finally found you.’

Yuki didn’t quite understand,  but amidst the confusing, the pain and the hurt of  being unwanted, abandoned and un-loved, Luka came to him and offered his hand and told him, ‘I am here. Come with me, you are not alone.  I will not betray you.’

Tears trickled down from Yuki’s eyes. Somehow this man, touched his heart and made him feel safe. His life has changed so quickly from being an orphan to becoming a part of a clan and having Luka, who promised to protect him.  His heart is filled with happiness but at the same time apprehension. Gaining a family meant leaving the orphanage and the children, the people he loved all these years.  Gaining a family meant dealing with this power called “God’s Light” which he still has to figure out its purpose. Gaining a family meant facing danger, death at all times.

Yuki wondered if he just went along with Kanata-san and lived with him would the changes in his life be the same. He missed Kanata-san and longed to hear his voice.

“Yuki, are you alright?” the soft kind voice asked.  Yuki smiled at Luka, who just now awoke from his nap.  His silver eyes widened with concern as he gently brushed away the tears that soaked his face.

“I’m alright Luka,” he answered. “I’m just happy and overwhelmed at the same time.”

Luka’s arm laced around his him, gently pulling him close in an embrace, “I will always be here for you remember that Yuki.”

“I know and I am very grateful.”

Yuki leaned closer to Luka. Somehow  being held by this man no longer bothered him, just like in his dream, it felt safe. Soon enough, he will find out  his part in this mystery. With Luka protecting him, he will be able to stay strong and face whatever, he’s destined to do.
