Danny took off his shirt for a quick swim in the ocean while he waits for Steve to get home. It was one of those sticky hot tropical days, and Danny was drenched in sweat. His long sleeve buttoned shirt looked like second skin, the way it clung to his skin. Luckily, he had a duffle bag in his car with clothes to change into. Lately, he’s been spending a few overnights at Steve’s house, and he learned to be just like some boy scout and always be prepared.

He noticed the different shades of tan on his body and the patches of white skin that had never been kissed by the Hawaiian sun. He doesn’t remember seeing a patch of untanned skin on Steve’s body. In fact, he admired how Steve’s skin had that sun kissed color throughout his body. Danny’s eyebrow raised upon realizing a sudden discovery and smiled deviously.

‘Hello gorgeous!’

He stared at the white sand that glistened in the high noon sun. He figured that’s exactly where Steve laid out naked to get his perfect sepia-tone color. He removed his watch and began taking off all his clothes until Danny was bare naked out on Steve’s beach backyard. He figured his partner won’t be home for another hour or so, judging the way the Governor was on him all morning. He figured his New Jersey behind will wear the natural Hawaiian tan within thirty-minute exposures each side. Since he didn’t have any lotion, an hour exposure under high noon sun would be enough UV exposure that definitely guaranteed skin cancer at his old age, but a nice brown color that would make Steve turn and take a second look at him.

Danny laid on his back exposing his full frontal for the sun to kiss. It surely felt so hot and Danny closed his eyes, since he didn’t want to wear sun glasses that would only result to an awful facial tan.

‘Half an hour, half an hour…’

Danny repeatedly chanted so he won’t fall as sleep, but without realizing it after a couple of minutes of repeated chanting, Danny ended up napping away.

When he woke up, Danny felt gritty sand on his lips, when he opened his eyes, he was facing the sand. He must’ve turned while he was sleeping. The sun’s heat pricked his skin, and it was quite painful to move from his supine position. Still naked, Danny wondered how long he’s been sleeping. He wanted to rub his eyes to clear his vision quicker but sand was all over his skin, well-tanned skin, in fact, as he noticed the back of his hands and forearm. He was attempting to turn over when he finally realized he was no longer alone, noticing Steve lounging on his wooden lounge chair holding an ice cold Heineken bottle, his eyes looking at him and his naked ass.

“Hey nudist,” Steve gave him a cheeky grin, “nice tan.”

“How long have you been there?” Danny asked, his eyes still off focused due to over-exposure to the sun.

“Well came home just in time to turn you over, since you were already half-baked,” the navy man replied.

“Well I guess I am grateful for your kind concern towards my frontal condition.” Danny shook his head. “Mind if I borrow a towel?”

“Might want to apply some aloe on your skin Danno, you are fried, and you’ll feel it too. What possessed you to sunbathe in the nude in my backyard?”

“Well didn’t you do the same thing?”

“No!” Steve answered in disbelief. “Why would you assume that I would do that? Pointing at Danny’s so red behind.

“Well your tan?”

“What about it?”

“You don’t have a patch of white. You’re tanned everywhere. That only screams sunbathing in the nude.”

Steve chuckled. “You’re impossible. Have you heard of tanning salons or self-tanning lotion?

“What?” Danny blurted.
