( It's A Date )
Tezuka picked up the flyer about the Spring Dance that was scheduled over the weekend. He read the details before replacing the flyer back on the top of the piled copies at the reception desk.
“Tezuka-san.” Someone call from behind. Tezuka turned to face the person addressing him. The female student was from his Physics class.
“I noticed you were looking at the Spring Dance flyer and I was wondering if I could interest you in attending the dance.” the female asked.
Tezuka gazed at the other student and thought about the invitation for a moment. It would be something different and maybe Fuji would enjoy attending. This could also be an opportunity for the two of them to go to a school function as a couple.
“I have to check and see if Fuji-kun's available to attend the dance.” Tezuka stated.
The female student smiled, since Tezuka didn’t say no. “I look forward to seeing you and Fuji-san then. Maybe I could bring a friend of mine and we'll have a double date?”
“If that arrangement suits you and your friend. I am pretty sure Fuji-kun wouldn't mind the company.” Tezuka replied.
Tezuka turned to walk out of his building and wondered if his acceptance of the other student’s offer for a double date was misconstrued. He thought he was clear about his plan to take Fuji with him but then again, he was not sure if anyone in his building knew that Fuji was his lover.
Just thinking about it, he realized it might not be a good idea to let Fuji attend the dance. He imagined all sorts of devious and playful things Fuji would do just to stir him crazy inside. Tezuka seriously thought about the situation for a moment and sighed. He decided to take Fuji out for a drive or plan for a dinner and a movie instead.
His cell phone vibrated. Tezuka wondered, Fuji 's class isn't done for another hour. A text message from Fuji appeared, “I heard you’re taking me to the spring dance this weekend. :) I can’t wait!” <3 "
Tezuka sighed, "I should have known better, nothing goes unnoticed with him!" he thought to himself. He typed his reply, “Your GPS seems to work very well. Who spoiled my surprise?”
“A friendly bird flew by and heard you mention my name and something about the dance.” Fuji replied.
“Of course, he wouldn't say who!” Tezuka thought.
“I guess it’s a date then.” Tezuka typed his reply, “Mind double dating with some girls from my class?
It didn’t take long for Fuji to reply, “Who’s dating who? :( "
Tezuka smiled reading Fuji’s question and replied, “If you behave, you can be my date.”
“You’re no fun, but I promise to be a good date.” Fuji posted.
“No question about being a good date. But you behaving, I’m worried. No need to make the girls jealous, ok?” Tezuka replied.
“Hai, hai... I shall be a gentleman. :) Anything to please my buchou!"
Tezuka couldn’t wait for the hour to be over and meet Fuji for lunch. His earlier trepidation over the idea of taking Fuji to the dance had disappeared and he felt nothing but excitement overwhelming him now. He didn’t want to mask and hide his relationship, it's like a coming out party for them, no... for him.
Fuji's been open about their relationship and everyone in his school building who knew didn’t take offense of it. In fact, Fuji became some kind of a male magnet after he kissed Fuji in front of his school building. Tezuka smiled at his memory of that day.
"I shall be a gentleman." Tezuka read Fuji's reply and shook his head. He knew his Fuji very well and being gentle is something he looks forward to seeing, as well as the number of men and women ending up with a broken heart when they discover this "gentleman" was his date.
