Title:   Between Frost and a Rock
Day/Theme: August 18 / Centuries before I come to where you are.

Rating/Warnings :  G      Fluffy romance, Yaoi kissing.

A/N:  AU- Tezuka and Fuji are TokyoUniversity students and share an apartment together.  A snapshot of their life together, sharing moments to make memories. 

Memory: Fuji muses about his relationship with Tezuka. Tezuka declares, “You complete me and I swept you off your feet!”

There is no telling really how one ends up becoming a part of another person’s life. Some say it could be fate, some say it’s sheer dumb luck. Others would rationalize it using the idea of reincarnation, souls connected from the beginning and irregardless of time and place, together, by fate or by luck.

 

Fuji wondered, reminiscing the years, how they started as schoolmates, then tennis club members, friends, and ending up to where they currently both are today. A smile would always appear when his thoughts mused about one messy haired man wearing a pair of rimless glasses,  he then sighed and a repressed giggle,  as he tried to hide his musing. After years of living together, he still couldn’t believe how he ended up totally enamored by a stoic man, between the two of them words needn’t be wasted for in silence their thoughts always connected, clearly with focused understanding for the other.

 

He reached his arms up over his head and stretched his legs as far as he could  towards the center table.  Cat-like he imagined himself, closing his eyes in full satisfaction of his current disposition, next to the one and only person he loves.

 

“Syuusuke,” Tezuka called, interrupting Fuji's silent pensiveness.

 

“Ha?” Fuji replied in surprise, glancing to his side where the messy haired man with rimless glasses sat quietly with a book on hand. He folded his arms and laced his fingers together, resting them on his nape.

 

“You’re doing it again.” Tezuka retorted, stoic as ever, not reprimanding, merely stating as he continued to read his book.

 

“Gomen, I didn’t mean to,” he answered smiling, slightly showing the glimmer in his cerulean eyes. He unlaced his fingers from behind, turned his body sideways and folded one leg on the sofa while the other dangled on the side. He locked his hands together, twirling his thumbs absent-mindedly .

 

He watched his lover, noticeably losing focus on the book he invested almost an hour reading, Fuji continued to ogle and finally Tezuka caught a glimpse of him, his breathing hitched momentarily. Fuji smiled, now blue eyes fully focused at the object of his affection.

 

“Never fails.” Tezuka closed his book, setting it down on the side table before he turned towards his ogling angel.

Hazel browns eyed back at the bright blues and then a smile before he reached to touch and made a connection. He cupped Fuji’s soft face then slowly traced the outline of his smiling lips.

 

“You take my breath away.” Tezuka declared softly before his lips locked with Fuji’s.

 

His kiss at most time was received by smiling lips, slowly, teasingly responding to his playful seduction.

 

“Ku-nnn…ni…mit...su,” Breathless in the end, Fuji surrenders to his lover’s sensual luring, “not… fair at …all.” He managed to assert in between Tezuka’s kisses.

 

Releasing Fuji from his hold, though not an easy undertaking now that his mind was focused on something more deliciously decadent but somehow he felt, he needed to verbalize his thoughts.

 

“Never was, proven by centuries of literature, Syuusuke.” Tezuka noted, giving Fuji a loving pinch on his nose, “You can overwhelm yourself with thoughts of how we ended up together, but there’s just one simple explanation to that.” He smiled, a rarity but he wouldn't deny his lover such warm expression, knowing that he has been showered with it without inhibition.

 

His momentary pause was taken with a slight tilt to the side by his lover, waiting for the explanation.

 

“You complete me,” Tezuka stated, a playful kiss planted on the tip of Fuji’s nose, “and I swept you off your feet.” Tezuka proudly declared and smirking deviously at his lover’s surprised reaction to his words.

 

Fuji leaned back on the sofa, leered teasingly at the stoic man while his index finger sensually traced his supple lips, “I guess I have to thank Yuuta for giving me a pet rock as my birthday gift when I was three.”

 

“…”   the stoic man stared, losing his smile.

 

“What?” Fuji asked with his melodious tone, “It aided in overcoming such stony façade," touching Tezuka's face, "Oh, and Robert Frost helped too?”  His cerulean eyes were now showing wickedness in thought.

 

“Frost?” Tezuka didn’t hide his curiosity. 

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
 I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."  Fuji quoted excerpts from one of his favorite Frost poems.

 

Tezuka remained quiet, once again  stomped by Fuji with his random banter.

 

“It made the difference because at the end of that road was you, Kunimitsu, and since then we trekked the path together and here we are.” Fuji reached for Tezuka’s hand where a silver filigree ring adorned his ring finger, similar to the one he was wearing. “It will be centuries before everyone could accept the path we chose, but I’ll do it all over again for you.”

 

If there was one person in this world who could break into his stoic resolve, the person was right in front of him. Tezuka could only affirm his statement with a tight embrace, there were no other words to say that could compare to Fuji’s locution, except

 

“The rock, what did you name it?” Tezuka inquired, Fuji gazed at his stoic lover, a slight blush painting his cheek, then a smile.

 

“Mitsu-kun.” Fuji stated. Tezuka tilted his head to his side, wondering.

 

“At three?” Tezuka asked.

 

Fuji smiled deviously, “You forget I am only five now.” 

 

Tezuka did the math and he smiled after realizing what Fuji was trying to say.

 

“I hope you kept the rock and remind me to thank Yuuta-kun for his wonderful gift the next time he joins us for dinner.” Tezuka noted.

He should talk about the stories with Tezuka and tell them to you after you finished your paper!

How old were your brothers when you moved? How old are your brothers now? Guess my sister and my older brother think the same about me and my little brother. My oldest sister left the house when I was 10 years old ^__^

I finished my paper at 2:00AM last night, reviewed it and submitted the darn thing...so now I am officially done with this quarter....*sighs* happily!

Fuji was sitting in front of my laptop when I woke up this morning reading fics in my lj...He was actually reading the fic you wrote and he had quite a smile. When I said good morning, he just kept on smiling stood up and searched for his Tezuka plushie. Hay...hay...hay....now my muse is in such a fluffy romance mood...I hope he will not be too difficult to handle.

Oh...I think my brothers were much older than you when I left home, its been twenty years I think...see...I'm no spring chicken! The planned two years that I was suppose to be away then ended up adding into more years away due to jobs offers after school and then I guess living here for such a long time just became a natural thing...but I miss the travelling back home...my family's all over and those in Asia does not really feel the absence because they can easily go island hopping when the need to be with family make its presence...me, I just can't jet set across continents to go home for a weekend sojourn at my parents or my sis in Aussie or go to Japan or Korea whenever. *sighs* glad though I have my lj world to run away to when my real life gets too overwhelming....creative exchange is such a wonderful option when travelling is not a possibility.

I hope yo will have more time to write your Detective Tezuka...but I will be patiently waiting....enjoy!

Chibi Fuji was reading my fic? ^___^ I'm glad it made him happy! You can write fluffy romance, I don't mind! I love all kinds of TezuFuji fics!

Can I ask you a rude question? How old are you? Or don't you want to tell it? I understand if you don't want to tell, I'm just way too curious!

You got used to the life you live now. I understand that you don't really want to leave and I understand that you miss your family. I wish you could see them more often. *huggles* If you want to escape the real world for a while, you can always send me a message, if you want ^___^

Yesterday I had finally time to write a little. I had some trouble with a part of the third chap, but that's over now, guess my muse was gone for a while XD

My youngest sister passed on two years ago- cancer is such a nasty enemy- truly and she moved to her next life as a Muslim, I remember one of our conversations, she said one good thing about being Muslim you don't age because no one puts a number in your life years...your existence is like the ebb and tides of the ocean, constantly evolving yet not aging.

Can I tell you I am like Peter Pan I don't see myself accumulating in years....LOL.
Let's put this way, I chose to stop counting years when I reached 25. Hehehhehe.....

Must feel good when nobody puts a number in your life years. When you say 'I'm XX years old' people expect things of you, because of your age. I don't like that. Not aging must feel good. I guess I've always been older than my real age. People used to say/think things as 'you act old for your age'. I can't help it. It's not fun to think as an adult at the age of 12/13/14.

Well looks like chibi Fuji enjoyed your company during his visit and he looks forward to spending time with you as well... but he seem to be busy with something, very secretive about it...he and his Tezuka plushie and the other mini Fujis seem to be having some kind of pow-wow in their favorite corner of my bed.
They actually gave me an idea, which I acted on this afternoon...hopefully I will get a positive result...I will let you know as soon I figure out exactly what the outcome should be...*scratches head*

All I know is be the person you want to be, enjoy life's offerings and learn from it... not easy to live life why make it worse by not enjoying it right!

Oh well, they're all in cahoots on this and I can't get anything out...so I will find out once I get some news...chibi Fuji said he's checking on my emails for a response on query he asked me to send...

He wanted to find Tezuka plushie (the big one...like in the icon ... as you can see, Fuji simply dropped Ryoma who was sitting between the two of them in the regular pix.)

Fuji misses him. Apparently he is a hard find these days so I am trying to commission one to be specially made for him but the artist has not responded to our request.

chibi Tezuka suggested the dessert - he said chibi Fuji muse is hooked to it. Chibi Tezuka offered to eat wasabi brownie with chibi Fuji and that sealed the deal.

chibi Tezuka surely knows what to do to melt his chibi Fuji's heart... he knew how much chibi Fuji loved it when he shares a plate of spicy food...
