Miscue:  Fuji plans a date

The hallway was always clogged with students, noisy, rowdy seniors strolling along lazily from one classroom to another. Tezuka would, once in awhile, strike a glare at a pack crowding his path and when their noise level reached an annoying volume that his ears couldn't handle.  Of course his glares would always result to its intended purpose, for that Tezuka was contented. Except for one student, he sighed inwardly. Fuji doesn’t seem to scare easily. To the contrary, compared to the apoplectic rage envisioned from Fuji’s piercing cerulean eyes, his icy glare doesn’t even measure an effect as traumatic symptom on his eyed prey.

He had succumbed  to shudders when Fuji invested a luring glance towards him, quite a feat Tezuka surmised, not once had he experienced such overwhelming attraction for anyone else, just for Fuji. He wanted Fuji for his own and his thoughts of Saeki in Fuji’s life continued to knit dark musings in his pestered mind.

When Tezuka finally caught up with Fuji he was relieved that the honey haired man was alone.  He needed to clear things up with him before the situation between them turned muddled and beyond fixing.  But the conversation he shared with the jovial one was not quite what Tezuka planned and his presumptive mind concluded that some kind of fantastical joke has been played on him lately.  He must stop Puck and his companion of sprites from humoring themselves with his failed attempts in expressing his feelings to Fuji, so much for dwelling too deeply into Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Fuji approached him, smiling a smile as mysterious as the Mona Lisa’s.  ‘Did he manage to master that inscrutable grin for his own?’ Tezuka was secretly bewildered.

“Tezuka,” the honey-haired man stood before him, now with a capricious smile presented to him, something the taller man didn’t quite expect. “Are you busy this evening?” Fuji asked him.

The tennis captain remained paused while fleetly hiding his lost state, unsure where the conversation would lead him. The querying student however didn’t wait for Tezuka to reply.  Instead, Fuji grabbed a hold of both his hands and impressed a sparkling smile for him. “That’s a yes so you will accompany me then,” the smile that Tezuka saw was one of thankful relief and Tezuka’s heart fluttered, ‘Yes I will be free tonight,’ in his mind he decided.

“What’s going on this evening?” Tezuka asked, glancing at his hands coddled tightly by Fuji’s soft hands. His normal stance of detachment, he presented, but fought his wondering mind from imagining the possible scenarios he would find himself with Fuji tonight.

“Group date,” he heard Fuji announced and animatedly, a bomb exploded in his mind.

“Group date?” Tezuka asked flatly, “you said group date,” he repeated again, feigning failure from hearing the other correctly.

“Yes, we’ll take the girls out for ice cream,” Fuji replied. “It should be fun, since I could finally go on a date with you,” the honey-haired man bantered, blue eyes sparked, hinting a different meaning for his words.

“Ah,” the tennis captain sounded his agreement, “it should be interesting.”

Their hands abruptly separated from its twining, both men seemed to struggle from mellowing the warmth that threatened their faces.  Fuji quirked his shoulders when the pinkness shyly spread, then nervously smiled before he hastily padded away.

“See you later Tezuka.”

The bespectacled one froze, watching Fuji, imagining Fuji ambling away in slow motion with an alluring smile sketched on his blushing face.  The image was played on repeat inside his mind while he gazed at his hands, still warm from Fuji’s hold.

Tezuka’s brown eyes sparkled, a hint of a smile revealed his happiness as he repeated Fuji’s words, ‘A date with you.’

Gomen....I should include links to the previous drabbles. This is an ABC series of Tezfu drabbles while they're in their last year of high school and centers on how their relationship evolves. Trying to connect this storyline to my Tokyo AU TEzfu fic series which tackles their everyday life as TU students, living together and as lovers. How I will manage to do that...don't know yet but I think I have some ideas. I have like 6 chapters of Tezfu stories - which were actually the very first stories I've written of the two but still in a folder. I am actually working this alphabet drabble towards those 6 chapters and it should connect this series to the already posted TU Arc which I've been writing since I started with LJ in 2007...wow that long already. I sort of work backwards sometimes.

So this series is already in K ....
